Made in Canada

We machine the Henson Razor at our aerospace facility in Canada.

Aerospace Quality

The Henson Razor is made to AS9100 standards. Buy once, use for life.

Sold Around The World

The Henson Razor is a proven product, with over 700,000 sold around the world.

Shaving is a complete outlier in personal care.

A study of 1,000 men across eight personal care categories found something striking.

More than half reported that shaving causes skin irritation — more than any other category measured.

And yet shaving gets the least research scrutiny of any category. Only 6.7% of men associate it with independent clinical testing.

The gap is 3x larger than anything else.  So why does shaving get a pass?

The razor-razor blade model.

When an industry stumbles upon an ingenious business model — making huge profits on a replacement cartridge — it unwittingly constrains product performance.

You can't walk back the multi-blade premise.

As a consumer, when all your options are the same, you become conditioned not to expect better.

Henson's aerospace origins.

Henson was built in an aerospace machine shop, so it never operated under that business model constraint.

No cartridge revenue to protect. No subscription model.

That left us free to focus on pure cutting mechanics.

Finally a razor backed by real evidence.

First Study of its kind

MIMOSA Diagnostics is a medical device company specialising in early wound detection. Their Mimosa Pro camera is the cornerstone of this research — the first study of its kind in the world. Results have been published in Skin Research and Technology.

Title

Erythema

From the Greek "erythros" word for 'red', it's a measure for the redness of skin caused from increased blood flow. Not all capillary response is visible on the outer layer of skin, which is why this research looked beneath the skin for the most accurate measurement.

Title

3x Better hydration.

Henson left skin more hydrated post-shave. Cartridge razors caused significantly greater damage to the skin barrier.

Ditch the foam.

We found that in some cases, compressed shave foam from a can actually caused more irritation and dryness than just using water alone.

77% less razor burn

In a controlled study, the Henson system produced 77% less erythema (razor burn).

Consistent Results

The results weren't a fluke. They were consistent and statistically significant across every phase.

Why the mass market chose forgiveness over correctness.

Why the mass market chose forgiveness over correctness.

Across many categories, people are starting to recognize a pattern: systems designed for mass appeal often normalize decline. They don’t fail loudly. They fail slowly.

Once you understand the difference between forgiveness and correctness, it becomes difficult to accept irritation as “just the way it is.” The problem stops feeling personal. It starts looking structural.

Physics, Not Gimmicks

Physics, Not Gimmicks

Most razors chase gimmicks.  More blades, more flex, more flash.  But the truth is simpler: shaving is physics, not marketing. We break down how Henson’s aerospace-grade engineering rewrites the rules by minimizing blade flex, optimizing pressure, and stripping away needless moving parts.
